BAY CITY – Four major construction projects totaling an estimated $12,500,000 were approved by the Board of Trustees Nov. 14. The projects were proposed by Director of Facilities Management Larry Ramseyer.

The largest project totaling an estimated $5,000,000 is a renovation to Delta’s K-wing which should be completed in the 2019 spring or summer semester. Upgrades to the west campus were also approved and will include upgrades to the parking lots, baseball and soccer fields and an observatory to be used by the astronomy department. Plans to renovate the P-Wing and install new energy meters will also be completed.

There was also a briefing of the college’s audit for the 2016-2017 school year. Delta received an unmodified opinion from Andrews Hooper Pavlik PLC CPA Traci Moon which is the highest that can be given after an audit.

Moon was satisfied with the result and commended the staff and faculty of Delta College.

“There were no audit or tax adjustments. I’d really like to highlight that these are all positive answers and it really goes to show the quality of employees that [Delta] has hired. There’s no internal control matters that were found and management has high integrity,” says Moon.

Jean Goodnow, president of Delta College, appeared elated with the audit results.

“I’m pretty proud of our staff and the great job that they do,” says Goodnow.
